PRESENTATION

Take the cup and pour out the ball onto the table. Show both the ball and the cup. Pick up the non-magnetic ball with your right hand and pretend to transfer it to your left hand. Actually finger-palm the non-magnetic ball in your right hand while opening your left hand to show the magnetic ball.

Immediately pick up the cup with your right hand. Unknown to the audience, the non-magnetic ball remains concealed beneath the cup within your curled fingers. Lift the cup above eye level and drop the magnetic ball from your left hand into the cup. At the same time, release the concealed non-magnetic ball beneath the cup. It will appear as though the ball has penetrated the solid bottom of the cup.

Turn the cup mouth down, always keeping the mouth of the cup facing you so the audience cannot see the magnetic ball clinging inside. Gently place the cup on the table. Draw attention to the non-magnetic ball and place it into your pocket.

Lift the cup to show the ball has vanished. Replace the cup and give it a slight tap to release the magnetic ball. Lift the cup again to show the ball has magically returned.

Mime removing an invisible ball from your pocket and throw it toward the cup. Dramatically lift the cup to reveal the ball underneath.

Now place the ball back into the cup and tilt the cup toward the audience to show it inside. Tilt the cup toward yourself and pretend to pour the ball into your right hand. Secretly, the magnetic ball remains attached inside the cup. Close your right hand around the imaginary ball.

Set the cup mouth down on the table while your right hand apparently holds the ball. Place the imaginary ball into your pocket and secretly finger-palm the final load. Lift the cup to show it empty, then replace it and tap lightly to release the magnetic ball.

For the climax, announce that the ball will travel from your pocket to beneath the cup. Make the magical tossing gesture, lift the cup, and reveal the ball. Finally, repeat the effect once more, but this time secretly load the Barnyard Ducky Finale beneath the cup.

Invite a spectator to lift the cup and discover the surprise final load—the Barnyard Ducky!
