Three pieces of rope have been tied together with a single knot in the center. Only one rope is knotted, the other two are simply held by it. A $100 (or bill of choice) is also held by the knot. The magician closes the bill and knot into his fist. Two volunteers are asked to each pull a single rope from his hand. Whoever pulls the knotted rope gets the bill too! The magician is always left holding the knot!
