The magician walks onto the stage with a black bag clearly shown empty inside and out. He removes his gloves and drops them into the bag. In a flash the bag transforms into a large cape several times bigger than the original bag.
The cape which is gold and red is whirled over the performers shoulders and can be worn the rest of the act. There is no trace of the black bag or the gloves dropped within.
Another idea is to call an assistant to help you with another effect. Tell the assistant that you would like to dress him as a magician before he helps you. Produce a small twelve-inch silk and try to tie it on him as a cape. Explain that this just won’t work. Place the silk into the empty bag and turn it into a cape, which the spectator will be proud to wear.
Even a dove can be vanished into this bag and transformed into a cape.
