The assistant’s hand is placed in a metal box and comes out on the other side. The sides of the box are removed showing clear plexiglass so that the assistant’s arm can be seen at all times. There are two metal blades which pass through the boxes and the assistant’s arm separating the middle piece. The center section of the box containing the assistant’s arm is removed in full view of the audience and the empty section is then lit on fire! After a few moments, the center section is placed back, extinguishing the flames and restoring the assistant’s arm!
