The performer displays a small box. It is opened and seen to be filled with a large silk. The silk is removed from the box, which is closed and given to a spectator to hold. The silk is now vanished and the performer claims it will reappear back in the box. The spectator is told to open the box. However, when he tries to open the box, it breaks and clatters, falling to the floor in pieces. The spectator is left holding just the top of the box, and attached is the vanished silk.
This is a hilarious effect that can be used on stage, in a cabaret setting, or even in a living room show. It will get howls of laughter.
It is very easy to do and it is a very attractive prop.
